BATON ROUGE — A 15-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after being struck by a train on the train tracks near Mills Avenue on Friday morning. 

Officials told WBRZ that the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. on the railroad near the intersection of Mills and Merganzer avenues. 

Baton Rouge EMS and Baton Rouge Police responded to the scene.

BRPD told WBRZ that the boy was transported in stable condition.
