NEW ORLEANS — A Covington-based jeweler has been hiding diamonds around the Northshore area, and whoever finds them gets to keep them.

Chris Wisman is the owner of Diamond Wise, a custom jewelry store along Park Place in Covington. 

Wisman recently began a social media campaign in which he posts videos of himself hiding valuable diamonds in various places around the New Orleans metro. Hiding spots have included parks in Covington, Mandeville and Abita Springs.

Wisman reminds diamond-hunters to not destroy parks and other property while searching. 

The jeweler said he has plenty more stones allocated to keep the giveaway campaign going through the end of the year.
