ST. GEORGE — Road crews plan to close Highland Road near its intersection with Interstate 10 Thursday night so they can take down a pedestrian bridge that connects a parking lot to the former Dixie Landin' amusement park.

The state Department of Transportation and Development said Highland Road will be closed between 8 p.m. Thursday and 5 a.m. Friday. Traffic will be diverted to Pecue Lane.

Dixie Landin' shut its gates last year. Its operator said last summer that it would be closed for the 2025 season, then said it would close permanently. The adjacent Blue Bayou water park plans to open this summer.
