PLAQUEMINE — One person was injured after their car was struck by a train at the railroad crossing at La. 1 between Plaquemine and Addis on Friday morning. 

The vehicle, traveling northbound, struck the train near the DOW Chemical plant in Iberville Parish. 

A West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson told WBRZ that one person was injured and taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. 

Following the crash, La. 1 was briefly closed, but by 5:40 a.m., it had reopened.
