Tangipahoa Parish burn ban lifted after overnight rain ends dry conditions
AMITE — A burn ban in Tangipahoa Parish was lifted Thursday, nearly two weeks after it was put into effect.
"Due to overnight rain totals, our local fire departments concur that conditions no longer call for a burn ban across Tangipahoa Parish," Parish President Robby Miller said.
The ban was first put into place on Aug. 14 due to hot, dry conditions.
