All 3 suspects in Gonzales double homicide on East Caldwell Street taken into custody

GONZALES — All three suspects in connection with a double homicide on East Caldwell Street in Gonzales have been taken into custody, according to the Gonzales Police Department. 
 
The department said that on Aug. 21, shortly after 4 p.m., officers responding to reported gunfire found 17-year-old Tegan Daigle and 21-year-old Jared Downey dead on East Caldwell Street near Downey's home.
 
According to witness information and video surveillance, a black BMW was seen at the residence shortly before the shooting and was seen leaving shortly after.
Detectives later identified several individuals believed to have been involved, with 17-year-old Joseph Appiah of Prairieville later being taken into custody with assistance from the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office on several charges, including first-degree murder, criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault with a firearm, discharging firearms within city limits and manufacture, distribution or possession with intent to distribute Schedule I CDS.
 
On Monday, two additional juvenile suspects were taken into custody on charges of criminal conspiracy, criminal conspiracy to manufacture, distribute, or possession with intent to distribute marijuana, principal to first-degree murder, criminal conspiracy to commit armed robbery, criminal conspiracy to commit armed robbery with a firearm, armed robbery and armed robbery with the use of a firearm. 
 
The investigation remains ongoing.
