DENHAM SPRINGS — A Denham Springs area school said Tuesday that students were never in danger during a lockdown on Monday that resulted in one man's arrest on a terrorizing charge.

Stephen Norder, 43, was booked into the Livingston Parish Jail roster on Monday for terrorizing.

Norder was allegedly in the parking lot of Amite Christian Academy around 7:55 a.m., using inappropriate language and making verbal threats in the presence of school staff and some parents. 

Norder was on foot and did not have any weapons or ammunition on him, according to Principal Lisa Perkins. He never entered any buildings or touched anyone on campus.

Carpool students were in the gym for morning announcements and prayer, but were dismissed directly to their classrooms for a lockdown once staff was made aware of Norder's presence, Perkins said in a statement. 

Norder was arrested, and the school returned to normal operations once police gave the all-clear.
