KENTWOOD — Kentwood officials gave an update on a broken water main on Westmoreland Road on Sunday afternoon. 

The water main is currently broken alongside the Westmoreland Road Bridge, where officials say maintenance crews are digging several feet away from the bridge to access the broken main site.

By 6 p.m., a temporary line was installed and water was restored to residents in the area. Officials say a contractor will be hired to take out the broken line and permanently replace it.
