PORT ALLEN -Both eastbound lanes on the Mississippi River Bridge were shutdown Monday night.

The closure happened around 9:15 p.m. 

Traffic is being diverted to the old Mississippi River Bridge until further notice. 

DOTD said a stalled vehicle caused the shutdown. 

Traffic cameras showed a heavy law enforcement presence in the area.
