BELLE CHASSE — Louisiana State Police have issued a Silver Alert for a 60-year-old man last seen at his home along La. 11 in Belle Chasse.

According to state police, Robert Dampier was last seen at 8 p.m. on Thursday. Local authorities requested a Silver Alert be issued just before 1 a.m. on Friday.

Dampier is a white man with blue eyes and white hair. He is about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs around 180 pounds. Authorities say he was last seen wearing a gray or green military-style long-sleeve shirt and tan shorts, with two pairs of sunglasses on his head.

Family members told police he has a medical condition that could affect his judgment, and he is believed to be traveling on foot and does not know which way he went.
