ST. AMANT - Due to expected thunderstorms Thursday afternoon, St. Amant High canceled its scheduled homecoming parade. 

"While the storms are expected to be small, scattered, and isolated, we do not want to take the risk of a sudden downpour or lightning while our convertibles, trailers, students, and staff are preparing for or participating in the parade," the school posted Thursday morning. 

School officials said that a homecoming pep rally will take place at the Gold Dome at 6 p.m. Parents are welcome to attend. 

St. Amant will take on Zachary at 7 p.m. on Friday.
