BATON ROUGE — The Salvation Army of Greater Baton Rouge is seeking 30 new monthly donors ahead of Christmas.

The organization hopes to secure these 30 new donors through Army of Hope in the next 30 days.

Monthly gifts made through the local Army of Hope program stay in Baton Rouge to support local programs and services, according to The Salvation Army. Approximately 82 cents of every dollar donated to The Salvation Army supports local programs and services.

The monthly support helps ensure services such as our Center of Hope Emergency Shelter, Men’s Recovery and Next Step, Pathway of Hope, Social Services, Food Distribution, Youth and Community Programs are available throughout the year.

"Christmas brings out tremendous generosity in our community, and we are deeply grateful for it. But a family facing an unexpected crisis in September cannot wait until the red kettles appear," Corps Officer of the Salvation Army of Greater Baton Rouge Sergeant June Rogers said. "Monthly giving offers people an easy way to give practical help and hope to a neighbor in need every month. That dependable support is essential to our ability to respond quickly.”

Members can donate in $19, $30, $54 and $100 increments each month.

To become a member of Army of Hope, visit the organization's website or call 225-436-7881.
