PINEVILLE — Law enforcement officers gathered at Pineville Junior High School on Friday to welcome the daughter of Deputy U.S. Marshal Drew Hanson, who was killed in the line of duty in July, on her first day back at school.

Video shared by Louisiana State Police shows deputies dropping Hanson's daughter off at school in a Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office armored truck, with officers, deputies and troopers from various agencies lined up outside the school's entrance to welcome her in. 

"Officers were honored to stand together, offer encouragement, and help make her first day back on campus a memorable one," LSP said. 

Hanson was executing a warrant in Alexandria when the suspect, who had barricaded himself inside a home, shot and killed him, authorities said.
