BATON ROUGE — A 17-year-old's death along Bardwell Street is being investigated as a homicide, officials say.
According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office, Kelvin Jackson died early Monday morning after he was shot.
Baton Rouge Police detectives found Jackson lying on Bardwell Street near Holloway Avenue around 12:15 a.m., leading them to believe that he was struck by a vehicle. He was later transported to a local hospital, where it was discovered he was shot.
He later died as a result of these injuries.
A suspect's identity and motive are unknown at this time.
