LIVINGSTON — A man and his daughter were arrested following an incident at the Livingston Parish Courthouse on Friday morning. 

Around 11 a.m., Ron Gunter drove his vehicle to the Livingston Parish Courthouse before parking in a fire zone, Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said on social media. 

Ron Gunter allegedly exited his vehicle, where he was joined by his daughter, Nicole Gunter, who helped place homemade stands around his vehicle along with homemade crime scene tape.

As deputies began to approach the pair, Ron Gunter claimed they were preparing to protest. 

As deputies got closer, Ron Gunter allegedly retrieved a gun from inside his vehicle, leading to a struggle as deputies confiscated the weapon. 

Both Ron and Nicole Gunter were taken into custody, with only minor injuries being reported. 

Nicole Gunter was arrested on several charges, including battery of a police officer, resisting an officer, possession of marijuana under 14 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
