BATON ROUGE — Southern University has postponed the partial campus power outage planned for Saturday. 

The partial outage was originally scheduled to "stabilize and improve the electrical distribution." Southern officials said that after a review of the planned electrical work, "additional equipment is needed to safely complete the necessary installation."

Southern Officials said a new date and time for the scheduled outage will be announced once confirmed. 

"We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate the continued patience and cooperation of our students, faculty, and staff as we work to stabilize and strengthen the campus electrical system," Southern University said in a press release. 

Updates will be provided to students as more information becomes available.

This announcement comes after days of several power outages on campus forced operations to go remote.
