PONCHATOULA — The Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office have arrested two teenagers in connection to several vehicle break-ins that occurred in Ponchatoula earlier this week.

Deshun Swain, 18, and Deandre Brumfield, 17, have been booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on simple burglary charges.

The sheriff’s office received multiple calls on Tuesday from residents in the Arrington Place neighborhood reporting items missing from their cars, including guns. Deputies arrived in the neighborhood and identified the two teens, who matched the description provided by the first caller.

Deputies found several of the stolen items in the teens’ possession, including one of the guns that were reported stolen, and placed the boys under arrest. A search of the area, assisted by weapons-detection K-9 Liberty, later located several more of the reported missing items, including an additional gun.

“Residents in and around the Arrington Place neighborhood are asked to check their vehicles for any missing items and to file a report if any are discovered stolen,” a spokesperson wrote. “TPSO detectives are asking anyone with additional video footage in the area to please share those materials.”
